Re: Sydney's '68
I have been on vacation since before X-mas and have been getting some things done.
Got the old bed torn down and stripped of anything useful. Got the new bed installed with a little help from my Dad and Nephew. Now for the wiring part tomorrow or Saturday and then putting in the rest of the bolts for the wheel wells, it will be time for a test drive.

Re: Sydney's '68
Wow very nice...how hard was it to widen the tubs?...Those beds are a pain in the rear to lift me and my grandpa had to do it by our selves and we had to lift it high enough to get over the rear bumper pita!

Re: Sydney's '68
It wasn't hard really to widen them, just cut and weld in the new section you need. I added almost 11 inches to mine. As you can see, they are still a work in progress. Getting the bed off was really the easy part for me. I have a chain hoist in my garage and I just fit some 4x4 boards inside the bed and lifted away.

Thanks. It is a work in progress, one small project at a time.

Re: Sydney's '68
I am having some custom steel wheels made using the centers from a 6 lug stock wheel and a 15x14 hoop. Using specific spacing and back spacing, I wont have to cut the rear axle or narrow the frame, which was the goal.

Re: Sydney's '68
I am going to start a real build thread in the "Builds" section. If a moderator could lock this thread it would be appreciated.
