I got my old tires that were pulled off the Alcoa's I sold to rs72z for his CC project onto some replacement wheels. I was pretty happy that the most weight required for balancing was only 1.5oz which is pretty decent for such a tall/lg set-up (rears are 235/85-16's).

I also got the front half of the new exhaust completed. I needed to 100% confirm placement & alignment so I can continue w/the remainder of the system. I'm building it in a 'modular' fashion so if/when the dually goes from lwb to swb, all that is required for the exhaust is a section gets un-fastened, shortend the appropriate amount, & then re-connects to the existing flanges (similar to my 'H' pipe arrangement).

A couple pics of the replacement wheels when they were on a buddies shop truck (nothing special) & a few of the exhaust. I did all the fab work & tacked everything but had one of the contract welders @ my work do the final welding because of time constraints (his welds don't require clean-up while mine would have). A big thanks to my good friend & board member 'MattA' for his help w/swapping all the tires around....
Very nice exhaust set up. Can you share some info on building this? I want my set up to look just like this. I want to get the exhaust built so I install my headers at the house and just bolt up the exhaust. Still have stock manifolds installed so there is no way for me to measure.

I've spent the week picking at my 5.3, getting it ready to swap in. I was able to pull the engine and trans apart today, and got the trans all cleaned, painted and ready to move out of the way. I will work on getting the engine all cleaned up in the next couple of weeks. I am also still collecting parts here and there. Hopefully this will keep downtime to a minimum.

Ultimately, you'll need the headers in place if your intent is to build the exhaust based off of them. You could build everything from in front of the trans x-member back & then you'd only need to construct the 'head' pipes to the remainder of the system. I'll create another thread so as not to 'muck' this one up.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

I inspected the 84 Friday and drove it around all weekend. Got my 85 4wd power washed and drove it after installing a new battery. Swapped some parts from my suburban to the 84 and moved it to backside of my property. Gearing up for the Run to the Sun show this coming weekend in MB, SC. Can't wait for a weekend off.

Re: What did you get done daylight savings time edition 3/11/12

Lately I've been having some issues, such as sluggishness on takeoff and very little get up and go. So head out to OKC for a little diagnostic work. They ran the usual troubleshooting procedures and found a line feeding my "motor" that was almost totally closed off. My "mechanic" decided to put a sleeve inside it to help keep the fluid flowing smoothly. BTW, this isn't on my truck but on ME. Second stent in the last 5 years.
