Re: Off-roading makes me sad
I still use mine regularly, but just for mild exploring where I'm not going to screw it up. I have other trucks for for the gnarly stuff. I live in an area of southern California where you will drive side by side with a Lamborghini, Ferarri, Maseratti, Porche, etc. on a regular basis. But I always seem to get more thumbs up, more people asking about my Blazer, and more admiring glances than the high dollar flash that some poeple drive. There is just something about a full convert Blazer. Before I was married, my Blazer was a real honey magnet too....ahhh good times, good times....

Re: Off-roading makes me sad
I really admire the guys that tear these things down to the frame and restore them back to factory or build their dream ride. I just don't have the patience for that, cant stand having a vehicle I cant drive. Mine will probably always have the custom dear designed front bumper(hit 2 so far) and the dent in the door, bin meaning to replace the rocker panels since I got it, maybe someday. I am happy that it starts with the first turn of the key all the lights are working(except high beams) and I finally put in a new brake booster so it stops when I want it to. I don't take it off road too much anymore but I can if I want, not too worried about the paint job, its still original. I love driving my K5 in snow, rain, or with the top down on a sunny day will never sell it and there will always be things on it I want to fix but probably wont get around to, would rather put the top down and take a ride then wrench on it all day.

Re: Off-roading makes me sad
I can certainly understand that. I'm one who prefers to drive them. I hate It when they are down for any length of time.
I have however found a solution to that. Get another cool vehicle to drive as a backup. That however has a flaw. Over the years it snowballs into a collection of vehicles before you know it and it's the domino affect from there, (bigger garage, then more property to build an even bigger garage) |

I have one thing stopping me from having another K5. A wife.

Re: Off-roading makes me sad
You guys are looking at it all wrong...... Just look at the production numbers for the 1st gen Blazers compare that to the production numbers of wives available for the same year periods. Much easier to find a wife of that vintage then a Blazer of that vintage, so if you have the chance to get a Blazer you gotta pounce on it. Just don't tell my wife I said so
