Re: B&m Light Truck Megashifter

How is it for comfort while driving ie reach and leg room. And how did you get rid of the column shifter. And does the dash gear indicator still work

Re: B&m Light Truck Megashifter

the reach is fine with the shifter.
the stock indicator doesnt work, but the one on the megashifter does.
you have to hammer out the pin on the colum to remove the stock shifter.
and also you need to remove the stock linkages

Re: B&m Light Truck Megashifter

nice, solid shifter, always liked those , I guess the rev/nss is handled from the shifter?
or can you leave the linkage in for that?

Re: B&m Light Truck Megashifter

I believe there is a way to adapt the linkage from the steering to the trans with a aftermarket shifter so that the column indicator/switches work

I bought a a mega shifter from a garage sale for $7.00 but its missing the pieces for the cable so it was reall a waste of money unless I fabricate the pieces or buy them from somewhere cheap

If you are handy, you can probably fabricate what you need.
Worst case, even if you have to pay full retail and get the parts through B&M, it is a 250.00+ shifter(retail), so if you only paid 7.00, you have a lot of wiggle room before it is a "waste of money".

Re: B&m Light Truck Megashifter

Yeah I've been trying to find a way to fab something, really all I would need is something that will hold the cable but what about the piece that goes on the side to actually put it in gear

I am sure you can download a manual online, locate the part number needed, and order it from B&M or a local speed shop.

Re: B&m Light Truck Megashifter

I love my B&M shifter! I originally bought mine for a 3rd gen Camaro then sold the project so it's a shorty. I just welded up a box and then welded it to the floor! It is A LOT o fun!
