Short tube will allow you more clearance down under so you can keep your exhaust up in the frame. Long tube will get you a little more hp and rpm but will hang lower. If the hp and rpm does not concern you I'd say go short tube.

Re: What are the Best Fitting Headers for a 67-72 Chev!
I was actually thinking of just going with traditional exhaust manifold on my rebuild. The headers on my truck (I am only the second owner) are from 1976. What are the advantages of going with headers vs. the original manifolds?

I install Hooker Super comps on every engine I install and about 95% fit without any issue at all, but does depend on position of motor mounts in frame, 6cyl or 8cly holes.

Re: What are the Best Fitting Headers for a 67-72 Chev!
Has anyone here bought any Doug Thorley headers for a 4x4 I ordered mine from summit on 3/2 and was expecting to get em 4/13 now they say not untill 4/26 what gives. I just placed a call to cust. service to see what was going on gonna get back to me on Monday. I told the guy that I could have made em myself with stone knives and bearskins in this amount of time.Sorry just venting a little bit here. Bethewaz I think im gonna keep for my 70 k/5 but if I decide not to keep em I will let know.
