Re: Our Little Father Son Project

Little update....

Finally started painting! We have never painted anything before, so it's been quite the learning experience.

Bodywork blows! We've sanded and primed, sanded and primed, still didn't get it perfectly straight, but it's a solid 10 footer!

Pretty proud of what we've done..especially with our materials. 15 gallon compressor, $10 harbor freight gun, Summit paint Oh...and inside a carport

No everything is shown, as we've painted everything except for the outside of the doors. Hoping to get that done this weekend and then reassembly can start.

Let me know what you think!

Sharp eye! Yup. There's a lift shackle on the driver side to help with the chevy lean!

Re: Our Little Father Son Project

The paint is looking good. That is going to be a really sharp truck.

Are you guys shooting that paint while wearing just dust masks? I would recommend at least using a respirator.

Yeah that might matter more if they were in an enclosed booth, or even garage, but it's being done in a car port, LOL! Lots of fresh air!

Re: Our Little Father Son Project

Got a little more done this weekend! Installed a windshield and backglass for the first time...what a PITA!!!!

Sprayed in a bedliner and roller on bedliner on the back wall. I like it.

Also got the AC Compressor put on and am in the process of getting hoses made. It's too hot is Mississippi to not have air!

A few more weekends and it should be ready for a drive. Can't wait!!

Outdoors or not......... a respirator is a good idea. Automotive paint is nasty stuff. Better safe than sorry. Next time you paint outside wit ha little dust mask, blow your nose after and see what color your snot is. You'll probably see the importance of safety then. Just sayin'

Re: Our Little Father Son Project

Got a lot done this weekend!

Finished up the AC install.. What a PITA!!! If only Chevy had made the outlets on the compressor an inch higher everything would have been much easier! But alas, now we have cold air!

Mounted the doors and put all the guts in them. First time for that. The door handle to striker clip is a lot of fun :lazer:

Got the fenders mounted as well! And only managed to chip the paint in a couple of places :bawl:

It's definately not perfect, but my dad and I did EVERYTHING ourselves!

Pics are horrible because we didn't finish up until about 10:30 last night.
