Re: NOS Door Handles

I finally got mine today. I guess they were at the Post Office in Chicago and my friend picked them upo and reshipped to me. They seem to be great quality as they are heavy and the GM Bowtie is stamped into the handle. I do a question though. The box with the right side handle has part # 3927899 on the box label but the number stamped into the inside of the door handle says 3927898, does anyone know why? Also the left box has 3927895on the label abd 3927897 on the handle.

The number stamped onto the handle itself is the casting number. You will find this on some items that are composed using different parts to make a whole. For example, hood bowties and grille bowties have a casting part number different than that which is posted on the box.
