I still havent started it but its in the truck now with the th350. I changed the valve cover gasket, flywheel, starter, water temp line, oil line. Just lil things right now but soon once i get electrical done it should be ready to start up again. I love it though gets me excited. Good to be able to seee your truck online. I will be watchin and learning on your build. ENJOY

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
I do have the gasket for the oil pan but just gonna wait to see what happens first. Looks like I might have to change the gasket on the intake manifold. looked alil out of place what mabye its okay. Right now my biggest thing I can not find is the Kickdown/tv cable brackets for the automatic trans setup. Lil by lil though we will get there. Once I get this truck going and set on the road I will cruise it over to your place. Maybe we can cruise our trucks side by side?

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
Been tring to fix a leak in my pool. Drained it, sealed a couple of potential problems, filled it back up....FAIL..still leaks...had to step away for it and work on the truck....My buddy Neal from Nine Iron Designs came by and welded in my rack notches..thanks buddy..
Was able to start the front afterwards |

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
A little update but need help (will post this for nate too on his site to see what he thinks) Questions if anybody might have the answers. 1. other than some miscellaneous nuts and bolts this is all i have left to try to mount the upper and lower control arms. Nothing seems to work for the uppers, either to much slop or doesn't fit. anybody recognize this parts and if any are for mounting the upper control arm??? I believe i am missing the rod/nuts for the lower control arms unless i was to remove them from my old crossmember, which i don't believe to be true. |

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
Question 2 (screw up im sure). Look at where my dif is lining up un my notch, Obviously wrong (to far back). I followed nates directions to the tee (at least i think i did). My thought was to move the trailing arm crossmember toward the front of the truck to center the dif on the notch. Anybody see this to be a problem if i did? |

Re: Papa's 67 step side (aka ANOTHER porterbuilt prison)
Got the front suspension mostly done. Thanks to Nate (and others) got the rear sorted out. For stepside the trailing arm cross member needs to be mounted as far towards the front of the truck. In case anyone is doing a stepper.
