Drove to Nashville today to pick up a set of heated 6 way power leather bucket seats. These are brand new and never have been installed before. I will take the head rests off and make a new mounting base to get the height right. I have them sitting on an old mounting frame I got with the truck. Looks like they will block the back window even after I lower them 3 or 4 inches. Found them on CR List for $200 and couldn't pass them up. If I change my mind later on I think I can get my money back out of them.

Happy New Year to All,

I started the repair work on the doors today. They had already been sand blasted by the previous owner. The bottoms of the doors were very solid with only a few pin holes. I drilled and welded them. One door need a patch panel on the inside of the door and the other one needed a larger patch panel. Its strange how these doors rust through the interior side vs. the bottom. I painted the inside of the doors woth POR 15 after welding. I will weld up the larger patch panel later this week. Soon I will be hanging doors and working on getting them fitted properly. Off to a good start in 2013.

I haven't posted any pics in awhile. I turned the cab on its back and cleaned and painted the underside, completed the body work on both doors and hung them so could install the bear claw latches. It feels good to finally be making some progess. I hope to complete the bear claw latches then get the doors in epoxy primer and high build primer soon. I also picked up a an original grill in good shape. It needs a little smoothing but should work nicely.

I've been busy finishing the bear claw latches. Then I started on the front fenders. The fenders were in very good condition with only one patch panel needed on the lower right side. I got the patch panel in and did the initial body work in hopes that warm weather would soon be here so I could spray some primer.

Finally some warm weather... Sprayed 2 coats of House of Kolor epoxy primer and 2 coats of high build primer. Time for wet sanding again.

Thanks for the compliments. I don't have a color picked out yet. I really like House of Kolor paints so it will probably be something from them. I'm thinking I will put the cab back on the frame and test fit everything. May work on the gaps at the bottom of the doors before finalizing. I am rebuilding the door hinges so the doors hang nice and straight. I still need to work on finishing the hood and running boards also before paint. I'm happy to have the body in as good shape as it is. After all the body work I have a few mechanical things to work out then on to a making a center console and bucket seat mounts.

Thought I would post an update. I blocked everything I had ready with 400 grit and found a few places I still needed to smooth out. I worked on those and reprimed. I started on the hood and patched a few rusty spots in the support frame, then removed and filled all the badges and holes for the chrome trim. I was debating welding the hood seam closed but read several posts on the forum of potential problems so now I thinking I will just purchase a new strip to put down the middle.
