Re: first thread on my 67' stepper
Dude, a Powerglide will take a bullet. I know guys who run them in race cars (bone stock) behind hot big blocks and they hold up..
Seriously. As long as it's fairly decent on the internals I'd say you're good with the glide.

Re: first thread on my 67' stepper
The little purple Datsun has a Powerslide. It's only been 8.90 at 150mph though. Good luck with your stepper though! Lots of sheetmetal work ahead of ya! |

Re: first thread on my 67' stepper
so i spent the rest of the day horsing around with the truck an pulled the front end off. fenders inner&outer, grille and rad support aswell as doors.
pulled the fuel tank out, wich is in great shape(almost no rust) most of the bolts came out nice, only had trouble with a couple. someone had previosly welded the drivers front fender to the rocker and rad support, so i ended up grinding the welds out. the inner fenders were so rotten i dindnt have to unbolt them the outers they just fell off the truck. the rad support also fell of it was rotten at the bottom.(wasnt actually expecting that). looks like i need alot of sheet metal( but i already knew that) the winshield came out good,(but than my 3 year old througha rock at it and broke it!!! (wanted a new one anyways....) |
