Re: Lets see trucks with tonneau covers..

Does anyone know the exact width and length dimensions of the 73-87 8-foot bed? Are they close to the size of our trucks? I am looking at getting an Advantage Torzatop http://advantagetruckaccessories.com/torzatop.php
but they only go back to 74.

I have one of these on my '05 and it's the best soft cover I have seen. No clamps, no frame, no snaps. Just 4 latches and three folds and it's off the truck.

I put a cap designed for a 73-87 on my 69 many years ago. Lengthwise it was OK. However, it extended over the bedsides 1/2" to 1" on each side. I doubt that a soft tonneau for a 73-87 would work well depending on the frame width. Sorry, I don't know the actual bed width difference.

I'm thinking of getting an Extang Full-Tilt for my truck.

That's what I've always done. I go to my upholstery guy and have him make my tonneaus in whatever color and material I want. My '67 will get one and here is my old '71:

Re: Lets see trucks with tonneau covers..

I don't know that they are exactly the same on the outer edges, but anything like caps, ladder racks, etc. made for a 67-72 will fit a 73-87. The same is true for any Fleetside all the way back to '58. It wasn't till trucks started being marketed towards car people that they went and got all goofy with dimensions, which really put the screws to the working man. I have a ladder rack I made for an '84 that has angle to fit the top of the bed front and both sides. That truck is long gone and I've been using it on my '72s for years.

My cover is a LeBra. I think? It is a snap style. I don't really care for it but it came with the truck. I do like those craftec covers!
