Sweet! I love the video between you and the Lightning. Just how close was that race? Keep up the great progress with your truck and let us know when you drop into the 11s.

540 Stroker, it was really close. I won on R/T .544 to his .690, I ran a 8.17 to his 8.15. I was running a 100hp shot at the time. That Lightning has run a 7.66 @ 91mph with a 100hp shot. But he threw a rod out the side of the block last time he ran. I got it on video, here's a link check it out. http://www.geocities.com/my67c10racing3/lightning.html

Nice...you caught him sleeping! Nothing wrong with that.

A big ouch to the Lightning owner.... to run that quick and then blow the engine through the lights. That's not the first L I've seen that's tossed a rod. Was he running the stock rods? I've heard the stock rods in the Lightnings are "weak" and can't really handle any sustained, hard abuse. Cool video though....I love Lightnings and their blower whine....I've always wanted one since the redesigned 99s came out.

it seemed like that dodge was faster than the 5.0 mustangs... and the cobra couldnt do a burnout... they would spin and he would start rolling.

That old Dodge was cool....I love seeing 2 old trucks going at it. 383 Stroker-What was he running in that thing?

Chances are the guy in the Cobra didn't know how to hold a burnout with a manual trans. You have to dump the clutch and then immediately tap the brake all the while trying not to stall it or lose control. If you've never tried this before, it's easier said than done. Probably better to just do what he did if you can't do it right.

540 Stroker, the Lightning had stock rods. Yeah, it sucks for that guy, it was his wife's daily driver. He just had one of the heads replaced because it blew a spark plug out. The Dodge had a 440ci, auto tranny with 4200 stall converter and 4.56 gear. It was a good running truck, 8.02 @84mph with a 1.75 60ft. That Cobra was running on street tires, so all he really needed to do is clean them off. The Cobra ran a 8.35 @87mph with a 2.09 60ft.

it happened last night...I had a lean pop..dont know how or why..either broke a ring or landing..runs ok, but I have a ton of blow by. I got an eagle forged crank eagle forged rods and probe lightwieght forged pistons..full floaters.. 20cc dish..so that makes for 11-1CR. I also ordered a comp CS282s-10 solid lifter cam. The psitons are .040 over

Sounds like a nice kit. Did you get a chance to try the new converter? What fuel pump do you have?

540 Stroker, what do you have the 540 in? My cousin has a Scott Shafiroff 540 with a 150hp shot in a Regal, he runs 6.0's @113mph in the 1/8 mile.
