Re: Locomotive Lugnut

I got the majority of the front setup installed this weekend, it was easier than I thought it would be. I'll try to have some pics up in the next few days.

Re: Locomotive Lugnut

Got the front PB setup as far as I could ,I'm still waiting on some other parts to come in to be able to completely finish it. While I was trying to make some things look nice I had the 4-link bars, panhard bar and sway bar chromed. Here's some pics.

Looks real nice. Makes me want to get in the garage and finish getting my frame cleaned and painted.

Re: Locomotive Lugnut

Since I'm still waiting on some parts to show up to finish the front susp. I figured I'd do something else this weekend. The seat that was in this truck when I purchased it was way too tall and bulky for the look and style I wanted so I found another use for it elsewhere. So I picked up a clean 89 Chevy bench seat off the local CL and got it installed. It was to tall as well so I sectioned the brackets to suit my needs. I wanted the top of the seat back to be flush with the bottom of the back glass , hince the sectioning of the brackets. Next I'm going to start on the rear suspension. Here's some pics.

...and "NO", it's not staying red and it's not staying cloth.

That gets the seat to fit in there nicely.

Re: Locomotive Lugnut

That's a fair amount of material removed from the riser.... How's the driver seating position now? Feel 'right' or ??

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Locomotive Lugnut

It's perfect, and extremely comfortable. The truck had some angled brackets that the previous seat mounted to that raised the back of the seat up a couple of inches. So I turned those brackets around the opposite way so it would raise the front of the seat up a couple of inches hince , leaning the seat back and providing me with a reclined , perfect height seating configuration.

Re: Locomotive Lugnut

Finally got the front susp. completely finished, got most of the rear susp. completed, painted the rear axle, and picked up a complete 6.0 Liter w/4l60e trans. Here's some pics.

Re: Locomotive Lugnut

Your truck is lookin' real good. It appears that it will sit very low to the ground and the seat too. May I suggest a skid plate between the floor and the seat. I like what you're doing.

Question: Know how to sell your truck for $50,000?
Answer: Spend $100,000 building it.
