Re: 15x7 steelies with poverty caps-lets see em

Really guys? Holy cow Call them what ever you want. I've called them Poverty caps since back in the day like everyone else did. They were base wheels at no extra cost on most models back then and it kept the price of the cars down (hence the term poverty). Most went this route because they knew they would get tossed in the trash and replaced with mags most of the time. Sometimes refered to as dog dishes because when the mags went on the caps made a good dog dish (dog bowl just doesn't have the same ring to it ) Although I have to admit I've never seen them used this way. Especially now with the cost these things bring. I've seen sets like I have pictured below go over $500.

Here is a shot of my not so politically correct (poverty,,,,ehem') caps I run these off and on sometimes switching to rally II's. Just love the look myself. My truck pictured earlier will keep the 16.5's and poverties so long as I can keep buying E load range tires for it.

Poverty, i think, is a little negative. Actually, if you look at the prices for a replacement cap at LMC i doubt you could be living in poverty to afford one. That's one of the reasons why i find the term poverty to be a little offensive.

P.S. My favorite ones are the gmc 3/4 ton caps----6 spokes instead of five, like FJ's above.

I call them lug nut containers when I'm removing a wheel (set on a rag so as not to scratch the "poor" things)
