Re: Ol Blue

Took a trip down to Tucson this weekend to pick up a new rear axle for my 67 from Oilyrag80. Did good in the heat. It runs great on the highway. Got all kinds of looks from people as I passed. A/C is a little weak but it was about 112 and the seals are not the best in the cab but it kept up. If you trust the GPS speedo apt my guage is only off a little bit. Don't ask how I got that pic. It was not EZ.

Re: Ol Blue

Well its been some time with no updates. I have been putting some miles on the old burb and enjoying having a driver. I dropped it off down in Tucson to get the seats redone. I can't wait to get it back. I will post pic's soon as I get it back next week. When I get it back I will get to work replacing more of the rubber goods around the windows.

Re: Ol Blue

Not done yet but looking good. The pic's do not show how cool the seats are in person! I'm vary happy with how they look and feel! They are going to cover the dash pad. Should be getting it back Monday.

Thanks! When I didn't get a response from anyone I got the feeling I had strange taste and no one wanted to say anything negative about it. I love them I get to pick it up today and enjoy the drive back in nice new seats!

If this sub was not so stock I would have gone after some new type suburban seats but I like the look of the seats. I found this pic on this sight and could not get them out of my head I had to get mine done like them. But I think we all get ideas from stuff we see to a point.

Re: Ol Blue

Took a little 500 mile trip this weekend. Had to break in the seats! Went to Nogales AZ. No problems and got just over 20 mpg. I need to get the sway bars installed. With some of the roads we had to take and crazy drive ways the back tires would rub on the inside of the rear fender wells. We took some time to explore the town a bit. They just got done filming "Hangover 3" down there. My dad works at the post office and they used it at the jail for the movie.

Re: Ol Blue

My dad's 70 is waiting for me to replace the freeze plugs. I want to get more done on this truck. When I get the new tires for the Suburban the rally wheels will end up on his truck.

Re: Ol Blue

I need to get a camera, cell phone pic's are just not as nice. I got some tires mounted on the stock wheels and cleaned up a set of wheel covers. The PO gave me what looks to be the stock dog dish hub caps. I'm going to clean them up and see how they look. With the taller tires on it looks like there is no drop on this thing any more! If I had this Suburban just a few years ago it would have air ride and a LS in it. That's not to say it's out of the question but with no one biting on my other suburban it might just have to get all the custom work and keep this one as my stocker.

Thanks guys. There was not much I needed to do, but getting all that black paint off and getting the seats done have maid it look like much better in my book. The dash pad has grown on me and i'm happy I let him do what he felt would look good. I keep thinking air ride might be something I do soon. I also want to look into adding rear A/C.

Re: Ol Blue

Not much of a update, Got my starter and alternator back from the rebuild. I also cleaned up the mount and got it painted. I told my self I would not pull the motor on this till 90k so it will be some time till I get the rest all clean and painted. Just enjoying driving it. I took the next week off to get some work done before Good guys. I have a long list of little things that will get done. I will do my best to get good pic's.

Burb looks great! Man with that kind of MPG, AC that keeps up in 112 heat without overheating, and that killer interior I'd stick a fork in her and call it done!
