Re: Vintage Accessories
I have a 2 gun,gun rack in my 68.
And,there's an 8-track player under the drivers side buddy bucket(with 4 speakers). The center storage box had about 20 tapes in it when I bought the truck. Also has aftermarket cruise control. I've added a am/fm/cassette stereo next to the 8-track under the seat. I have a lot of small stuff like key fobs, bowtie stuff, few dealer emblems, etc. Mike./ |

Re: Vintage Accessories
Bring this back up.
The kid and I have been setting ourselves up with cb's. He finds a newer cb in a trash can at a swap meet brings it home and low and behold it works great. I collected 3 vintage ones so far and none of them work I'll get lucky one day. But anyway we ran through a flea market being pressed for time and I spotted this one. The fella thought it was lined with gold so I didn't get it but I thought the box was cool.

Re: Vintage Accessories
Thanx for sharing these ! .
If you like the CB radio, some where in the internet will be an explanation of how to trim the antenna for maximum range ~ it's not difficult, you'll need a meter that is prolly languishing on E-Bay for under $10 right now . Those 23 channel ones have *slightly* more output power than do the newer ones . I still have my 1969 Pace CB in the garage, much fun having a CB Radio in the truck back then when I lived in rural New Hampshire .

Re: Vintage Accessories
My '72 has cargo hooks, aux. tanks, and Bartens bumper, all accessories from back in the day. It had truck air shocks still on it from back then, too. I put a set of Selectro lock-out hubs on the front, originally to compliment the aluminum slots it had for a short time

I have a couple of vintage key fobs and a vanity mirror exactly like the one posted earlier but not pictured. Pictured are my OK Used Car mirror dangler, gun rack, and hat rack. I too am always searching for day 2 mods and period correct accessories. Great thread!

Re: Vintage Accessories
A great thread to come back up. I tried to do something like this the other day but didn't get my point across too well.

Re: Vintage Accessories
Yes, this is a great thread for showing "non-factory option add-on accessories" by either earlier owners or dealerships. Back in the 50s-70s accessories were a big deal. Many people added one thing or another to personalize and/or give an added feature. These days cars and trucks come with everything, even more than what you could want. Back then car companies produced catalogs of GM approved accessories. Western Auto, Sears, Montgomery Wards, and most any big store offered a line of general accessories as well.

Re: Vintage Accessories
I have added some old lights to the ramp truck.
The unity spot light I got off E bay the hand held my dad gave me. I have a bunch of stuff my dad's friend gave me that he had collected over his years with Chevy. This pin I really dig! Tie Clips

I'm not sure the bandages will actually stick to anything, but I'd give em a try if I were bleeding to death

Re: Vintage Accessories
Use a tourniquet or old rag to stop the bleeding. Don't waste that vintage kit on a modern day wound

Re: Vintage Accessories
Not quite year correct but I have this Royce 604 in the Blue Bomb. Not sure if it works and I don’t have a suitable antenna anyway, but it fits the truck well.

Vintage Accessories
Back in the late 1940's Chrysler Corp. began labeling their accessory catalogs
" necessories " . I have one of those old hand held trouble lamps, it's chromed pot metal and has " BUICK " casted into it, when I fished it out of a 1952 Buick in the junkyard and asked the Manager how much he said " ? that junk ? ~ $10 Nate ~ why do you only buy the crap no one else wants ? " . It works (of course) and has a red lamp on the back of it for safety when you're changing a flat tire at night..... This is a GREAT thread, keep showing your stuff guys ! .

Re: Vintage Accessories
Does anyone know who made those air horns? They would work well on my truck now that I finally have the stuff to swap everything the the new frame. I've looked up town and country horns and all that comes up is 1935-1947 Chevy truck horns so I don't know if these were the same or if it's a different setup.
