yeah my wife did not want me to get it but once she saw it she liked it.

Re: 64 1ton (delivery day)

The first two she thought were cool, number three was just a cab to replace one I sold off and was a factory A/C cab....then number four just "showed" up.....she didn't think they were cool anymore. I have a 1965 SWB BBW thats getting close to being done and will be fun to drive before I sell it, then onto a 1964 SWB BBW. She see's cost and thats about it...Its all good!

I do need a frame of a 1 ton for the 1965 A/C cab (with bill of sale) so when I sell it someone won't have issues in some of those other states!

Looks good

It helps break up all the white. Real nice crane you put on the bed.

no problem! i know classicparts.com carries them, & i'm sure several other classic truck part vendors do as well....someone also mentioned a vendor on Ebay as well that offers them in various color choices, but i'm not sure which seller it was

Re: 64 1ton (delivery day)

I think you need to have some bedliner shot on it. Since your in the heated south talk to them about going with a colored liner, like tan. It will protect the bed, give a little cushion to what ever you set on it and not be so hot like black would be.

that is on my list of things to do, yeah black would be bad in Az. tan would be good, or maybe a gray.

Re: 64 1ton (delivery day)

Is there a winch at the base of that boom? Are you going to add some outriggers?

Re: 64 1ton (delivery day)

there will be a winch soon, i bought this crane cheap knowing it would need work, i have started fabricating the outriggers just need them welded up , they should come out about 2.5 ft on each side, the max weight is 3000 lbs.

Re: 64 1ton (delivery day)

well last week i got the winch mounted on my crane, but i still need to wire it up, i also mounted and plumbed my generator, since the tank on the generator was bad i plumbed the fuel from my main tank, and hooked up a low PSI electric fuel pump, i have not run this thing in about 12 yrs, so i changed the oil primed the carb, and gave it a pull and WOW it started on the first pull and ran it for about an hr, i was just amazed it ran that good.

i will get some pictures posted soon.

does anyone else have a vintage service or work truck that they want to post some pictures ?
