Does the pressure stay at 35? Is the compressor continously on? also Found that on my 87 there is no High pressure switch, so you probably do not have one either. I finally got around to fix my ac as well. I put the dye in and like i said and had better luck at night It looks like i got it all over the place because i had some on my hand. But was able to find the leak. I had one leak on the fittings. Mine was actually missing the o ring, so took all the fittings off and installed new orings on all, just in case. At this point i also installed a new orfice tube(1.99 at advance). Put the system back together and pulled a vacuum to 30 hg for about 45 min. Dropped some freon in their and checked for leaks... Got no leaks and AC is kicking...The key is to find the leak. The dye works...it has a slight green tint...hard to explain but looks like the dash lights ....Its not going to POP at you you have to look for it |

Re: a/c trouble
still could not find any leaks, drove truck today a/c was cooling good.checked pressure,it was 40 psi on low side and 200 psi on high side.must be a verk small leak.the a/c compressor belt still sliping a little bit when you accelerate.only place you can see uv dye is where dye is service port.thanks so much for your help,i have learned a lot about a/c.i will keep checking on it.
