My truck is very easy to steer also. I like power steering but I'd like to feel the road though, if that makes sense. Squarebodies seem to steer really good on average.
Thanks, stay tuned! if there is interest I will keep posting updates. I want to figure out what drop I want and I plan to get that ordered tomorrow, Im thinking a 4/6.

Had the same issue. My '87 GMC step-side steering seemed to be real sensitive when I first got it. Straight as an arrow, but i drove it with a white knuckled death grip. Real twitchy. I adjusted the steering box slightly and added a little looseness. Not too much, but a big improvement for me.
You've got a great first car there. Good luck.

Re: First Vehicle - 76 Stepside

Havent posted any updates here lately so here are some progress pics

Cut out the cab corners, rockers, and floor

Got the new sheetmetal tacked in place

We had to mod the floor for the new seats we have for it

Test fit

Now we started to lower the truck with a belltech 4/6 kit

All cleaned up

Re: First Vehicle - 76 Stepside

Looks good. You did your floor nearly the same as we did on Red Rover. I took out the whole floor under the seats and lowered it more then you did , but nearly identical. We are using the same seats as you are...

Re: First Vehicle - 76 Stepside

got alot of sweet things going on with this one!!

sweet build, especially for being so "young", but the demon tweek bites us young and infects us for a long loooong time!

by the way, looks like youve got a couple of decent lenses for your REBEL T2i..

The plan right now is to use the belts that go with the seats. I need to find the set that came from that same truck. I should have done that when we got the seats....
