Re: Awesome Patina'ed up 69 for sale on CL - Check it out

Seems to be a lot of opposing opinions gong on here and similar trucks links are posted weekly with little traffic. Personally if it were a long bed it would be $500 in the Ok market but a short would be much more, I can buy long beds all day long for less than a grand but a short bed, good luck. Having original paint and the highly desired patina it would definately bring $2k in my state. Being a step bed does bring less than a fleetside for me and most others but I would absolutely pay $2k for that. Obviously I would work my bargaining skills but this is a nice looking patina ride. Similar rides sell for big bucks with a little work and I really dont see why people are saying it is worth less than a grand. Do other states really have highway worthy SHORT BED trucks for less than $2K? I haven't seen any links from others with shorties for less... I think it is a great looking truck and with a little money and work it would be worth some big bucks in original paint. Thats my 2 cents.

Re: Awesome Patina'ed up 69 for sale on CL - Check it out

Didnt mean to stir opinions, I just thought it would make a good patina / bagged truck and theyre tough to find around here.. everyone is buying them up.

I gave 2500 for my GMC and I would give 2100 for this one.

I don't think you need to feel bad you posted it up... everybody has different opinions mang. Me personally... I don't see the coolness of "patina" and "bagged" trucks. But a lot of you cats do. The more popular that fad becomes... the more and more the prices of hulks is gonna go up. Just the way it is...

Some people tell me that the stance and slotted mags on my truck are out of date... which they are... it's what "I" think is cool... I would never critisize someones work or blatantly flame them.

The diversity of this forum makes it what it is... just plain cool. From old cats to young cats, baggers to stockers, rat rods to pro street, drag trucks to toy haulers... we're all here... we all have a different opinion of what is cool...

I like stock original trucks LIKE MINE ! but I have a computer and can see when a (FAD) like this (PATINA) fad thats going on right now takes hold and makes something worth more $$$ , we are dealing with peoples opinons from the time BEFORE the patina fad and AFTER (NOW) the patina fad ,,,,

YES 5 years or so ago this little stepside was a $500 truck MAX !

today IT IS A TWO GRAND TRUCK ! like it or not this patina thing has took over for now at least ! I want one too !

I hunted the internet for day's ! trying to find a 67 or 68 shortbed fleetside for my boy and I did ! I found him a 68 shortbed fleetside fairly solid and it had been sitting in a field for 20 year's not running ! it was $2000 , I was offered $3000 for it before I even got it home !

I am going to buy another truck myself this fall or may wait till spring and it will look just like this little stepper here but I want another short fleet 67 or 68 with patina just like this one , and will I pay $2000 ? or even $3000 ?
YES I WILL !

Re: Awesome Patina'ed up 69 for sale on CL - Check it out

I don't "feel bad" that I posted it .. I just didn't mean to start anything on how much it was worth. There's a butt for every seat. To each their own..
Long bed, short bed, shiney or not ... it's up to you and what you're willing to pay.

But, I'm just sayin .. I'd like to have it

And for those that know me I have one I paid $2500 for .. that's 3x the truck this one is IMO -- BUT -- The truck was truly only worth what someone would pay for it .

That truck is worth every penny of the $1,900 they want for it. I see the slashed it from $5,900... prolly cuz at that price it wasn't gonna move off the lot.

Just for sake of sayin'... if I'm gonna pay $2,000 bucks for a truck. It would look like that little blue stepside in the link above.

Re: Awesome Patina'ed up 69 for sale on CL - Check it out

In all fairness, and in no way offensive but honestly I'd have trouble with giving $500 for the long stepper. Again, just my opinion.. Just not a big fan of the long beds personally.

More money than i would pay. I guess it saves a lot of time and money not making them look good and you can park them anywhere. But i don't give them a second look.

To some, perhaps. I'd paint it and reupholster it and otherwise leave it alone.

In fact I'm saving up all my money so in ten years I can open a "stock wheel and suspension parts store" to fix all these trucks with 22s and a slammed ride height when it goes out of style.

Of course with my luck by that time it'll be cool to run the driver's side higher than the passenger side with bicycle wheels at all four corners.

I'm also one of the few that (with a few exceptions) calls "patina" rust.

That all said, if you've got a patina'd, lowered truck with big wheels on it, rock on, I'm just some idiot on the Internet.
