I have to find a container large enough to fit the tailgate in. If I use a wire wheel or flap disc I would have a dust cloud larger than the ones that be in Arizona.

just make something up using plastic dropcloths if you think the idea is worth trying.
yeh i've had bondo situations like that and the dust is out of control just wirewheeling it or sanding.

Removed the fenders, hood was already not attached. Decided to degrease the suspension and under carriage, not alot of grease. Think for now im going to just tighten up the suspension with new hardware, ball joints, shatf links, etc etc and some paint. Need to move it from the ground to a soild surface so I can tear down the suspension.

Ok me and these engines, its a 327ci 350hp engine, in fact both of them are the same numbers. But I found a vortec engine and waiting to hear from the guy. So we will see.

Filler on the driverside rear fender. I have never seen white filler, but it has a few cracks. Not ready to take it all the way down to the metal yet and the plan for now is to keep it black suede. So im good. I think.

As I was sanding down the fender, I got past the white primer and on some
of the parts has pink filler under the primer. I figured thats what it is because its on a lot of areas of this truck. Even with the pink filler its not thick or caked on.

I figure some welding, sanding, and other body work, then I can shoot it suede again with a clear over it. I dont want to take this down to the metal just yet. So im going to leave well enough alone. I have already sanded down too much filler and found a spot that I need to refill.

Picked up some POR-15 sample cans. One regular POR-15 and the other is POR-15 Chassis Black. Only applied the regular so far and impressed with how it turned out. So to keep cost down this is the way im going. After I pressure wash and wire wheel the frame first.

POR-15 will be the paint. Use the 4 1/2 inch grinder with a wire wheel to clean the frame. Just not sure if I want it that shiney or not. Once I pull the engine and trans this week, I can paint up to the cab.

I will be using the 71-72 spindles I already have (Thanks Johnoro) and will be adding CPP 6 lug rotors. Might keep them red, not sure.

Also going to powercoat my steering linkage bar that connects the inner tie rods. That will be either black or red. Again not sure.

Glad to see you making progress, my step has been sitting in the same spot I parked it when I got home from the Downey meet. I'm not sure when I'll get the cash to work on her again. I should probably tear her down and start painting everything.

I understand, im short on cash also, thats why im doing a few things at a time. If I use the 71-72 spindles, I have to buy the upper and lower ball joints, and outer tie rods. Which is not too bad, or I can just get lowered spindles and ball joints as a set for 320. Way too many options.

Also thinking of converting from leafs to trailing arms and coils. Just a thought.

Well I looked at your build after you bullied me.lol I like the project man its nice. As far as removing the bondo use a heat gun or propane torch with putty knife. I prefer the heat gun if you don't have one you can borrow mine. Now you are not trying to put a lot of heat into the panel, you are only heating it enough so that the bondo loses its adhesiveness. Also another method is air craft paint remover but it takes several applications and I don't like the mess or getting it on my skin which you will as you scrape it off. Let me know.

Thanks for the idea I have a heat gun and will give it a try before I grab another one. Any ideas, suguestions, advice, etc, etc are well received.

Sent the control arms to the powder coater the other day. Want to get the front end done before the rain comes since its sitting on dirt right now.

Cleaned off the crossmember. Dont know if im going to send this out to the powder coater or use POR-15 on it. Need to disassemble it also then I can figure out which way im going.
