Re: Project "BLACKOUT"

Now i have to thank the local auto parts store in bernville for charging me 340 dollars for the gaskets(even though the refunded me i paid with card so it took almost a week to get my money back). And charge me 20 !@#$%* dollars for a 45 degree angled heater fitting... Oh well my monster is back up and running Thats all that matters to me

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"

I tucked the wiring in the stock loom behind the radiater. the pic are just the test fit just to check to see if the relays worked. it uses one of your headlight sockets and then just takes all the strain out of the wire from the switch, so instead of all of the electric flowing through the switch it just flows through the relays and now the switch doesnt have to souly power the lights. Now the relays are doing most of the work Now these pics are the complete wiring

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"

Well tonight i decided to finally put in my van tilt column, My three on the tree column was getting really worn and i was getting p***ed off at my horn button... It would unlatch itself from the one corner and then beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeep until i ripped the horn button off the wheel..
Sooo when i was doing this swap i realized that i wouldnt be able to use the steering shaft that goes to the steering box. Because it was a one piece deal so lucky me i almost forgot that i pulled an intermediate shaft from another truck before.

Well when i test fitted everything it looked like the columb was gonna be way too shart but the shaft i had has little plastic inserts inside in cause you would get in an accident and dont get impailed by the wheel.. drilled out the plastic and got the bfh out and wailed down on the iside of the shaft till it would be the right length.

Put everything back in and tidied up the wires under my dash and solderd wires that had twist ties you would use at home. To top off my column installation i put the 67-68 wheel back on and man it feels perfect. I love the stock steering wheels to theses trucks. Ill get pics up soon of the finished product. Sorry for no pics, camera is dead right now

It was only like forty bucks. Got a lot of Chinese writing on the package but overall I am very happy with the setup. It was weird how it had me wire the plug into the passenger side headlight plug but it came out really nice and doesn't look out of place

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"

For the longest time I have had carb issues, I had a carter that made my truck miss a lot and had an eddy that made it run right but wouldn't idle down below a thousand rpm... Even though it costed a case of beer I now have a Holley that runs perfectly on the truck such a pain in the arse least my truck is now running properly again also fixed my window too

Lol they never do really, I just had to get my truck towed back home 30 miles cause the tranny fluid drained out the pan gasket, that was fixed quick after a nice new gasket hopefully maple grove raceway will have some good parts for me, wish meh luck

Re: Project "BLACKOUT"

Been a while since I posted on my build thread, gave her a tune up and used accel 300+ wires and routed them under the headers, I'm planning on putting my aluminum valve covers back on and get them painted crinkle black. Right now trying to fix my brakes since the back part of the master is bone dry. Here's a pic of the way I routed my wires

Is there any chance you might be able to give a part # on that headlight harness?
