For a complete bolt in Ac kit that will have AC-HEAT-DEFROST.Vintage air is the only way to go.The Gen IV sure fit is the complete kit for your trucks. They have kits for non factory air trucks and factory air trucks. There customer service is top notch. We have been selling these kits DAILY on this site for the last two years. All customers have been very happy with there product.Let us know if you want a good price for a USA made Ac kit.

Here's mine, shifter is a little close but I got the kit for around $300. Alan Grove brackets were extra but well worth it!

Re: A/C advice please!

I got it from a local guy who bought it for a hot rod and never used it. It keeps the truck pretty cool but I need to get a bigger radiator

Kit came with everything but the comp. brackets (Alan Grove $90) I did have to get a little extra hose, belt, and a straight fitting from NAPA but it was pretty much all there.

why is this the only way to go? i find the surefit out of place with the modern controls that replace the stock sliders, same with the underdash vents, they're pretty cheesy
brokenspoke did the best job on that cutting in vintage aero ball vents look completely stock, i may get the classicautoair below and route it to some of those ball vents as he did and maybe either side of my radio if they fit

64Shortbox found http://www.classicautoair.com/60_63_..._Chevy_AC.html these guys use stock controls and have a completely detailed PDF they also replace the glovebox i think

Re: A/C advice please!

Here is the info on the 1960-1966 chevy truck Vinatge Air Gen IV kit.

Sure fit options

-Multi-speed blower fan speed adjustment
-Dehumidified defrost mode
-Mounts under the dash
-Uses your FACTORY system controls with included replacement cables (64-66 includes new rotory controls)
Firewall plate for refrigerant and heater lines

On your truck being a 60 you will keep your factory controls

when i spoke to them they said keeping factory (ie cable) controls on a 60 no longer an option

Re: A/C advice please!

I stand corrected here on the 60-63 Vintage air supplies a new controller that goes into the factory dash location.

On the 64-66 you can use your factory controlls that came with your truck

I will say hands down still that Vintage air has the best Ac kit out there!!!!

Re: A/C advice please!

for 67-72 guys (no good for me) i found this system and thought i'd share, i have bought from them in the past, they were good to deal with, good prices and the product was decent (considering every single system out there is ugly)

I have to agree with Justin @ Scott's that Vintage air has the best Ac kit out there and having bought from Scott's in the past I know they only deal in Quality parts. But for those of us on a budget we have to shop around. NAP looks like a good product but is butt ugly imo .... Here's a couple of pics you choose what looks better. Excuse my dusty dirty engine bay I'm in the middle of a truck remodel/makeover !
