Food baggies, markers and a camera are your friend. I also bundle up disassembly sequence instructions into the baggies. I have way to much going on in other aspects of my life to remember 12 years later how my truck came apart. Process has saved my butt on a couple of things so far (steering column dissassembly to change out the lock, bed supports and sequence of assembly, and door gut/window stuff for instance.)
I also recommend using a chasing tap to clean up threads so you don't strip any thing out and make more work for yourself.
