Re: Just picked up today!

nice score! keep it looking the way it is, lower a tad and put a nice motor and that thing would be sick, but it is sick now and if left alone, it would be perfect too

Re: Just picked up today!

Super nice truck, super nice find. Congratulations.

I'd do as little modifications as possible. They're only "original" once.

Safety items update/re-do, then drive it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Just picked up today!

I started chuckling after I read, "....start working on it". Man that is a great start...beautiful truck. You dont see originals in as fine shape as that very often.
As far as "work"....right now a wash, wax and enjoy is about it. Ok, maybe a steering wheel.....welcom to the the board!

It had been sitting for a while, so I do have some work to get it running again. I already pulled the gas tank and am working on cleaning it out. I was going to really dig into the truck today, but Fantasy Football drafts take up most of my day. I have concentrate on the drafts, because that could be extra money to go into the truck!

Welcome. Sweet find. Too bad more people didn't preserve their trucks like that was.

I got it off Ebay too. The ad was real crappy but I took a shot and called because it was close to me. I got no answer and the voice mail was full, but I left a call back number. The wife called me at 0800 Friday morning asking why I called. I then talk to the husband and told him I would like to see it. He said he had someone coming at 1500, and I asked if I could see it earlier and he said yes. I brought more money than he was asking, just in case, but I saw it and bought it on the spot for the asking price. I had a hell of a time by myself getting on the car hauler, but I was able to get it. Since it had been sitting in my driveway the last two days (trying to talk the wife out moving her Camaro out of the garage) I have had offers that would double what I payed for it. The more I think about it, the more I plan on keeping it. But first thing is to get it running. If I do decide on keeping it long term, it will stay as much as possible 100% original and then get it painted back to the stock saddle color.

Great truck!!!! I like that you are keeping it the way it is and not lowering it and putting obnoxious wheels and airbags on it!!

Changing all the fluids and going over everything to figure out what I need. Just ordered a gas tank, sending unit and couple other small things. Once I get the tank installed, it will be time to try to fire her up.
