Re: Factory split Rims?

16" lock ring wheels were included with the Custom Camper package. An old trick to simulate the look of a lock ring wheel is to paint the edge of any wheel gray or silver. UPS paints there truck 1 piece wheels with a silver ring around the edge, gives the old school look of heavy duty lock ring wheels. Its pretty simple to paint, just dip a cotton ball into the paint a run around the circumfrence of the wheel by hand.

Re: Factory split Rims?

Hey, Factorystock... got any more cool 3/4 ton (esp. Custom Camper) photos like that to share? Love that pic. Why is the color so funky, though? From a brochure?

Re: Factory split Rims?

I watched a couple of videos of the tire change and application. How do a person keep paint on their wheels with the pounding they take? For expense consideration, would it be cheaper to purchase a new 16 inch rim from Summit that will fit the hub for around $100 each and a new tire or find a tire that fits these rims, purchase tubes, and rim protecters, and then get a truck place to mount and balance?
