John thanks for the detailed write up and pics, already picked up a crossmember for this mod when I seen your first post on it, this will be a winter project and install in the spring when I rebuild the front suspension..

Chief, after you section the crossmember do you go ahead and add 2.5" drop spindles ? or is this not possible after sectioning due to steering clearances....???? Kieth

A dropped spindle typically is cast with the spindle relocated, but the steering arm is in the 'stock' location.

I took a few pictures of the crossmember, with the stock front suspension complete dropped (no coils) for some reference of clearances. Tire is a 215/65-15 (26" Diameter) ....Stock spindles.
(NOTE: V6 engine rear crossmember sitting on floor) - - ![]() - - ![]() - - ![]() - - ![]() - - ![]() - - ![]() - - ![]() - - Otherwise Stock, with coils removed: - -
