Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
Tearing the bed wood out and redoing it, made an appointment with the spray in bedliner folks to spray the inner bed. Ordered the Upholstery today for a new seat and headliner too.

WOW!! Is it really that rust free?? Looks really solid, what a great find.
It should sell fast, wish you were closer. It's screaming to be lowered!!!! (in my opinion). Great truck |

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
If it was a keeper I would have an axle for it sitting next to the one for the burb. MN isnt that far away...I'd meet you in Idaho? What do you think its worth?

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
Thanks for the heads up on Benavidez . Arnoldo is a Kool kat. Minimal thickness, but a 2" path. basically an 1/8th on each side of the letters and its nearly flush with the blackwall. machine started to hop a little, old tires? They look great and glad I drove up and back twice to have them do them.

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
I don't have too many, but heres a couple. Has all factory seats, nice headliner, rubber mat up front and carpet rear. All new OE style leafs/shackles etc. Have a Sids 4" drop fully assembled and waiting along with a 700r4 and have a line on another completely rebuilt engine hence the sale of the Apache to fund the new motor. I wasn't going to sell the truck until the burb was done, but stumbled on this motor I have to have.

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
Started tearing the wood bed floor apart tonight. Holy cats, this is a project. Every carraige bolt will feel the warmth of the hot wrench when I'm done!

Your CL add popped up on the app on my phone. I thought to myself, I know this truck from somewhere.
Looks good. Good luck with the sale. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
Thanks, I have a motor waiting for the Suburban I want to get. The Apache is getting new hoses ( just because I. Don't know how old they are) and I'm starting to cut the carraige bolts for the wood bed. A couple or so at lunch each day and should have it out and prepped for the line x by the weekend.

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
I have used the small ones 2" and up to this size 4" . The placement is everything, sometimes you have to mount them on the vertical edge of the door. I have had the best results with the 4 inch on this truck and can see well with it mounted where it is. i had to mount a 2" on my 55 wagon on the vertical A pillar portion of the door and look through the wing window. They still look better than the camper mirrors LOL

I saw your pickup on eBay today. Looks good. It's amazing what a bit of elbow grease will do.

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
Thanks...a small project each lunch hour, a couple hours a night after work ( waiting for the wife to get home) and a long weekend and it's amazing what you can do, especially in Oregon when the weather changes and being outside in the evening sucks. last year I restored a 55 wagon at work the same way. Blew it apart to the shell and when the body shop got it back to me , 4 months later it was done. Hoping to sell the Apache and grab an engine for my Burb that i have my eyeball on!

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
Well, they say if you mention something chances are good it will happen right? I took a healthy deposit on the Apache tonight. The new owner, Micheal is excited. I will keep posting a few more pics of the bedliner treatment, professionaly upholstered seat and "sprucing up" of the engine bay as we agreed on a very favorable price. Looks like a build thread on the 50 Burb will be sooner rather than later!

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
Man, I really like the white dash and doors. I think that is the way i'm going to go on mine. Really brightens it up in there.
Would you go with a satin white if you had to do it again? I was thinking i would have to go gloss if i chose white.

Re: A quick flip while my Burb is down
I was on the fence using Satin or Gloss too. The Satin looks better, softer etc but does seem to " greasy fingerprint" easier. A little degreaser on a rag and cleans right up though. I just dont think Gloss would look " classic" vs. the Satin and If/when I do it again will use the Satin. On another forum someone mentioned that they used 3 cans....I used almost 8 including the floor, tank and back wall. One day to sand and mask, 1/2 day to spray and touch up. I also had 3 colors on the doors and had dry time to reverse mask between colors.
