Re: LS3 Conversion - 67 C10

OK, thanks! Since our trucks are similar, I'm trying to imagine mine with 20's.

Tank came in, looks good, going to install it next week.

Boyds Welding, EFI Stealth Aeromotive 340 Pump.

Purchased Part # WIX-33737 (Corvette Regulator/Filter) Combo to manage the PSI and minimize the amount of return line to the tank.

For all going the WIX route you are going to need the following fitting from Russell; #640940 (about $9.00)

Re: LS3 Conversion - 67 C10

My booster set-up, out of a 72 (i think) is old, as I had to rework a few brake lines I noticed some were in really bad shape (+ big booster looks bad next to the new, clean LS3) Anyone have any experience with Hydraulic Assist systems? Specifically the CPP kit?

Re: LS3 Conversion - 67 C10

Power Steering - Ok when you are doing your swap consider the difference in the GEN II power steering pump to the old GM Power Steering box.... quick fix, w/o asking the expensive diesel guys to mock some up....

Summit Racing® Power Steering Line Kits SUM-G3160

Hose, Power Steering, GM Type II Pump to GM Power Steering Box, Kit haven't installed it yet but should work....

Re: LS3 Conversion - 67 C10

Sorry, been a terrible website user. The LS3 is awesome, better on gas when my foot isn't in it. No rubbing on the 4.5/6 drop, BE COOL Radiator and dual fans keep it cool even in 90°+ weather, and the BAER brakes/ Hydraulic Assist stop the truck on a dime (tested here on I95 a couple of times)

My granddad and I had done that engine back in 1997, it had served me faithfully, but was due to die soon; it was my highschool engine and served me well even under the brut force of a 16 year old foot.

Alright, purchased an LS376/480hp connect & cruise engine from PacePerformance with a few accessories.

Looking at two issues thus far... my fuel (tank) and my gauge set up. Any recommendations?

Right now running with a rear fill, rear-mounted tank I bought from LMC truck (21 gal) about 7 yrs old. Would like to continue to use it but don't know if there is a kit out there to convert to an internal pump or external pump that wont quit on me every 15-20k miles and wont cost what a new fuel cell will cost

And the gauges... thinking about www.dakotadigital.com or a www. http://boeseengineering.com setup, see website (67-72) dash clusters.

HELP ME OUT!
That will be one very nice truck when it is finished. Use the corvette Walbro
in- tank pump. Very reliable if you use the sock on the inlet.

How are you liking the LS compared to the 400?

Looking back on it now how was the swap? Anything you would do different?

The swap was awesome - do your research as I did, made the world of difference. There are enough after market items out here that you don't have to waste time fabricating brackets, mounts, etc.

I would look at doing a manual if I lived in a more rural area but happy with the 4L70E. Also the corvette stock regulator/filter is good but Im going to change it out to a more robust regulator.
