That is a rough truck to start with.
I wish you a lot of luck in getting it running.

its probably 5 on 4 and 3/4 that's the standard car pattern if its a gm rear-end. I got your message today and I will look at my stack of fenders and send you some pictures of what I have left.

i wish i could find a used 55-59 parts website....most new parts are 3 times the price of 67-87 repop parts...looks like alot of repairing in my future before i can get anything custom done.

but i love the style and have been wanting one for 5 or 10 years.

yeah, its how im thinking i want mine. simple but hardcore and driven hard.

i saw on another thread that you use that phosphorus stuff from hd to remove rust and keep it wet and wrapping it with plastic. im thinking i can do a 50/50 mix in a 5 gallon bucket and dip an old towel in there....then lay the wet towel on my truck panels. think this would work?

It seems that it works but from what little I read it takes days to clean parts.

exactly...it will need a ls1 for fuel economy and leather for comfort

those are the lines im gonna use for his 67 i have for him. the 56 will get the hand me downs most likely because it will be my project/weekend warrior. im thinking a rebuilt st8 six or 350 with an automatic and a leather bench out of a suburban. leather wrapped door panels and smoothed and painted dash with a nice billet gauge panel and billet steering wheel. ....shaved emblems and handles...maybe do a step notch with coilovers in the rear and bags or coils up front with some rack....no need for bags in the rear as the fenders will already tuck alot of wheel. i may get some shaving and body work done in march or so, then a little more in the fall...then find a nice bed and then start on the interior...last will be the eng and trans....suspension will be before the nicer bed goes on
