Re: Writing a new book about Squarebody C10 series

I am sure we all would be wanting to get a copy of your new book when done. There is plenty of information on here and a lot of guys with know how who I am sure are willing to help where they can. Good luck with your new book. Do you know what your are going to name your book?

Guess the best would be detailed changes throughout the years, common things done to these trucks (like lowering or adding things), and best places where to get aftermarket and etc.

Well I guess you know what your next book should be. Lol.
Then you could do one on 30 series trucks. You might be busy for a while.

I would totally love a K series truck book. Specially since the K10 I received with no history on it and have been trying to learn all I can about it just by looking and watching others that are close to the same year. I could use a nice reference book that says, "this is how it rolled out of factory and this is what you could do with it."

Re: Writing a new book about Squarebody C10 series

Hey you guys thanks an awful lot for your input! I'd like to keep on answering each person individually, but I'm such a slow writer that it's not funny... How I ever ended up as a magazine editor 5 times is beyond me.

The working title for the book is How To Restore Your Chevy C10 1973-1987

I'm as much if not more a GMC man than anything, so there will be as much info included on '73-87 Jimmys as I can dig up.

Thanks to help from you guys I'm starting to dial in the direction for this thing.

I'll update tomorrow, thanks!

John

GM temporarily changed the usual "C/K" designation to "R" and "V" for the 1987 through 1991 model years.
it mainly cover the 20 and 30 series trucks but in 1987 the 1/2 tons were called R10's not C/10

Hey thanks a lot for the explanation. Its no secret I'm mainly a lowered C10 guy. I have an old lifted F-250, uh, that probably doesn't count huh?

Aw don't cry, it's not all bad you'll be able to use all of the rust repair and fabricating/paint stuff. There just won't be any 4WD drivetrain info.

I know about as much about 4WD as the Pope knows about strip clubs.
