Re: Let's see your - Metal Tube Radiator Hose
Here is what I believe to be the factory hose.... I'd imagine you could make one pretty easy from the right sized pipe.

Re: Let's see your - Metal Tube Radiator Hose
I've seen a clear hose from somewhere, can't remember where but I thought that was cool, was suppost to be cooler than rubber/metal too...

Re: Let's see your - Metal Tube Radiator Hose
As some have already said the 4x4's originally used them. The engine is set back on a 4x4 (closer to the firewall) and a single hose would have needed to be longer. Some engineer must have decided it would be better to use the metal metal tube to cover the extra distance and make it a little more ridged.
That clear tube is cool! Jeff

That looks like it's pretty much the same bends as yours, rsavage. For some reason, I've always thought those were a GMC-only thing. Maybe I've just only seen them in person on GMCs

Re: Let's see your - Metal Tube Radiator Hose
I have the original that came off my 71 k20 but it has pin holes and alot of pitting in it after a mutric acid bath.
Any ideas on how to save it? I have one of those ugly ribbed hoses on it for now since that was the longest hose I had on hand. No I'm not gonna "flex seal" it.lol

Nice set-ups. I've got to say we've got some clean engine bays in the community. Seeing all of these custom autos makes me want to start a meet.
