Re: Holley Question

From what I've found, a lot depends on your rpm range...an engine is basically just an air pump really. The faster is is running, the more air you are moving through it and the more fuel you will need. If you are not running a lot of r's, and are looking for MPG, then the 600-650, should be fine. If you are screaming it and looking for performance, then go with the 750.

Here is a link to a CFM calculator...

http://www.4secondsflat.com/Carb_CFM_Calculator.html

Play around with the engine size and the rpm range, and you can see what I mean. The 83% is if you are running a carb, versus 100% for EFI.

Hope this helps!

Re: Holley Question

Yeah, I see what you mean. I would like the 670 street avenger, its just 100 bucks more. And, I am also in a fund for tires.. Thats why I am leaning more so towards the 750. And with it being vacuum secondary, and so tuneable and everything. Its probably what I'll go for. The truck is not a dd, it gets drove maybe 2-3 times a week lol Its me and my dads toy. In the future we plan to go 383 with a much more agressive cam and a few other thing to be changed. So, yeah.. And we drive it, its tops a 20 mile round trip.

Let me know if I can help. I have a few core carbs in stock I could build if you need one, and if you get one and need it tuned up give me a shout.
