Re: Street machine nationals C10 build
I am running 235/35/20 in the front and a 285/35/22 in the rear. Going to change the front tires to a 245/40/20. It doesn't look right to me.

Re: Street machine nationals C10 build
Current sidewall up front - 3.24"
245/40/20 = 3.85" sidewall 285/35 = 3.92" sidewall. Let me say this is one of my favorite trucks on the forum but I just never commented because I felt like it needed more tire on it. Not saying it doesn't look great as is, but just my taste / opinion and I do agree with you I think it needs more rubber up front. I just didn't want to sound negative. The reason I put the measurements up there is to say I'd be careful with anything over a 245/40/20 up front because looking at it from the side your front sidewall would be bigger than the back. .. just sayin. But, I'll mention it again Killer truck man, but if it were mine I would put a little more tire on it. It would make it ride better too.

Re: Street machine nationals C10 build
Looking at a 255/35/20 for the front. That would give me a side wall of 3.513" Vs. the 245/40/20 - 3.858

Re: Street machine nationals C10 build
I vote for a 245/40 or a 255/40.
35 series is too short up front. (my opinion)

Re: Street machine nationals C10 build
Are you referring to the SMN in Pigeon Forge TN?
I agree, Id do 245 or 255 40 series. Just for potholes and stuff. Id hate to see you bend a wheel. Posted via Mobile Device

Re: Street machine nationals C10 build
Finally got a few new pictures.
My new ride height.... I will have more with my new front tires. Ended up going with the 245/40/20... This was a good choice, because it matched the rear side wall height perfect. |

Re: Street machine nationals C10 build
Wow. Ran into a new issue. I need hood hinges. I changed the tire size in the front and now I cannot drop the truck all the way down.
Any ideas???? I have looked at Fesler build hinges... They don't appear to have a specific C10 application Just looked at Bult-rite hinges... Not sure??? Thanks..... |

Re: Street machine nationals C10 build
Your truck looks awesome, did you spray the satin blue and if so what did you use, or is it just the original patina? Either way it looks great.
