You can run some air line out and do a T-fitting with a shrater valve or shrater valve each bag independently. I do it all the time to get my projects moved around. You can buy them almost anywhere for a couple bucks each. Works great, and when your done with them save them for the next project.

I have one thing to say.... control arm bushings can *()(*&*&%^&%()*)(_&$^%#$#^&*&()*&...

k...

So i got up early to set up the control arms... messed up one of the bushings so had to drive about 45 min 1 way to get a replacement...

Was not a good start to the day.....

however when i got home wifey had a surprise for me....

no not that... lol

she got in and sanded the engine compartment.





The she even painted it while I was still dinking around with the control arms etc...









Keep in mind it is a rattle can job so it isnt perfect but neither is the truck so we are in good shape. We chose to only paint inside the motor compartment to keep everything outside as we had purchased it.

Now we started looking at the time and was running out of daylight, so not alot of pics of progress at this point as we just wanted to get it done.

So here are a couple after dark pics. I thought the front end would have been lower being on bags and aired out, however the tires we put on were 29 inch we had laying around so that accounts for some of that. Once the rear is done then I will see how it looks and see if we may change up the front a bit.

Front consists of 2" cpp drop spindles and the suicide doors plate and cup kit with ss8 bags

Yes bumpstops were completely removed and ground smooth before it was powdercoated.

You could trim your bag cups down a little. That would only help just a little though

Yeah... thought about that... not doing anything til I get the back dropped.. depending on work schedule tomorrow might pop off the bed and get started.

Ok... so a pic in the daylight...

Guess the spindles were in the box to long. Started to rust a bit in spots.




Looking at the bag and cup, it looks like I can trim it down if need be. Rusbuilt, you can see here where the bumstops were completely removed.

I will wait til I get the rear down to see the stance. Right now the front crossmember is 5 inches off the ground so once I get the right set of meats on there I assume that it will drop about an inch.

If work would quit getting in the way, I am going to try and pull the bed off this afternoon to start on the rear.

Ok so it is supposed to rain the next couple days. Made time today to make sure I can work on this inside the garage without too many issues while it is raining.

Lets begin:



No the burb in the back is NOT the one from TSC.

Bed is steel (for now) so made four drain holes and temporarily filled with hooks.

Now I know they had a steel bed in here but underneath is kinda off I think, maybe you guys can tell me how it is supposed to be.


Look at the bed area I am not sure how many actual supports are supposed to be here but here is wat it had.



Left by the cab seemed to be touching both the bed floor and the frame.

Next one over to the right was only connected to the frame, once i got the bolts loose it was free.

One over the springs. Not sure this is factory. Had some really crappy welds attaching it to the frame.

Next to the right between the crossmembers this one has a piece of 3/4 steel tube welded to the top: see below


And the one to the far right seemed to touch both the frame and bed floor.

So what is the right configuration?

Was running out of daylight so sprayed the frame as best we could knowing there would be touch ups later, most of the notch is in, still need to put on pan hard bar etc..




Frame is sitting level but still kind of high I think for being on bags. Right now it is sitting at 6.75 inches off the ground. Now these are 29 inch tires on it so that will drop some when I put the new wheels/tires on it. Not sure yet what to go with.
