Thanks guys,

I was doing some volunteer work with a guy and it belongs to his father-in-law. I just happened to mention that I liked to work on the old trucks so he asked me if I was interested in buying one. He knew it was a Chevy but wasn't even sure what year it was, so I didn't even know what I was going to look at.

Nope, I won't have until I get it bought and go up to to get it. I don't know if they have any pictures of it or not, I will ask.

I'm not sure what you mean by "og", I've never heard that term, but I will take a closer picture of it when I go up there.

"og" is short for "original gangsta", widely used for "OEM" in many circles.

Re: Non Barn Find '66 Chevy Truck

The vintage VW guys use it as "Original German", usually in reference to the paint- My '64 is "OG paint". That's what I always thought it meant until recently, never had heard that it was short for original gangster.

that engine looks like it might be orange?......if it's truly untouched, it belies the ongoing discussion about the factory color...........

long before ice-t was a co-star on law and order, he spelled it out in 1991. O.G. Original Gangster. Got a great hook.

I bought the '66 today and I have 15 more pictures to add. Man is this thing dirty. It will be interesting to see how this will clean up but it won't be until the weather warms up a bit. Hi of 30º here today. Hi of 14º tomorrow with a wind chill of -13º... It is supposed to be 40º on Monday so we'll see.

The engine turns over fine so that is a relief...

Thanks.

Looks solid! Great find. Sure looks clean under the hood without power steering, AC, dual M/C reservoir.

Looking forward to seeing it after a good wash.

Thanks. Yes it does look clean, but I would give up a little cleanliness for PS and a dual M/C...

I can't wait to see it when it's cleaned up. I don't think it will take long for you to sell it after it's on the road.

If I sell something else first I may keep this one...

Yes, as soon as I get it home. It doesn't sound like the weather is going to cooperate this weekend... Freezing rain and snow. Bummer!

Re: Non Barn Find '66 Chevy Truck

I use it for "original" as well, but it started as original gangster.

From the urban dictionary:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=OG

OG

Original gangster
someone who has been around, old school gangster

I guess that could describe me but I just call it OF. (Old Fart)...

Subscribed and anxiously waiting to see it all cleaned up!

Congrats on the purchase. You should be able to turn this around quick at a good price.

Thanks Tony.

The weather is not cooperating for me to go get it. We had an ice storm over the weekend and now they just upgraded a storm warning to a storm watch right through our area tonight and tomorrow. Up to 6" of snow with strong winds equals blizzard.... I don't know when I will be able to get it home. I have to be out of town for a while so that also throws a monkey wrench into the works. I'm not really worried about it because it's safe where it's at, but I would like to get it home.

I will post here when that happens...
