There is some adjustability with the coil overs. For example, you will see about 7"-8" from ground to the frame, on the mild drop member with coil over setup. That is why I put 7.5" to be in the middle ground.

Here's the problem with measuring how much "drop"... where do we start from? I would assume "factory height"? But then again, what really is factory height? We can measure an old worn out factory truck that might or might not be sitting at it's original height.... this could end up being a little misleading. Not to fear, we have a solution!

We have found it best to reference a specific point on the truck to measure from... and call that "ride height". We take a measurement from the bottom of the frame under the front cab mount to the ground and reference this measurement. It can then be compared to the customers truck and they will know how much drop or lift it will have compared to their current height... make sense? We also take a measurement from the bottom side of the frame under the rear cab mount.

On this truck, he is running a 26.3" tall tire and a 2.5" McGaughy's drop spindle up front. The bottom of the frame to ground measurement under the front cab mount is right at 6". Throw a Touring DM on there and it will be at 5". Change the tire size and it will vary the height as well.

A popular combo up front would be a 28" tall tire and a CPP 2" drop spindle... with this combination it would raise the front measurement another 1.5" but fill the wheel well up a little nicer.

Another thing to keep in mind, is that when going to a Touring Dropmember, it may be necessary to modify or go to a replacement inner fender well.

On the rear he is running a 28.5" tall tire and the bottom of the frame to ground measurement is 8". He has right at 3" before his axle bottoms out in the notch.

Hope that helps clarify the drop it has... I know it's a longer way to describe it, but much more accurate when making comparisons.

When running the Mild Dropmember with a Shockwave it would be between 3 and 4 inches off the ground when deflated if combined with a 2.5" drop spindle and a 28" tall tire. That would be similar to the factory crossmember laying on the ground... or Stage 2 front. Benefits would be a cool looking crossmember with improved geometry and a rack and pinion steering gear!

The front can be used with a shockwave, but the rear will be a traditional bag and shock set-up.

Dropmember Extreme (this is the original version... we had to specify it by "Extreme" when we came out with the other variations a couple years back). Its designed intent was to be an extreme low application with improved steering and suspension geometry. In regards to drop, it moves the suspension up in the chassis right at 3" when compared to a factory crossmember. It narrows the trac-width just over 1.25" per side, and also moves the wheel center line forward so that it centers it in the wheel well opening. It's main purpose in suspension geometry is for a "cruiser" it has improved castor and minimal camber gain (that's why the wheels are mainly upright on all trucks laying frame with a Dropmember Etxreme). If you want to lay frame with a big diameter wheel and tire combo, this is the best bet. It is available with air bag or coil-over options... although most don't run this version with coil-overs. I think there are 4 out there.

Dropmember Touring This was our performance variation that we introduced a couple years back. It only narrows the trac-width .25" per side, but also has the same benefits as the extreme. The suspension geometry is much more aggressive and designed for performance. It can be run with a coil-over or airbag. It is possible to lay frame with this variation depending on spindle and tire diameter. There is no notching of the frame for rack and pinion clearance with this version. The "Touring" is right at a 2" drop when compared to the factory crossmember.

Dropmember Mild This is the EXACT same thing as the Touring version, but 1" less drop built into it.

He is running the Original Front and Rear Dropmember kits... that we have since clarified as "Dropmember Extreme front" and "Dropmember Extreme" rear... as we now have different drop variations.

The bar under the diff serves two purposes.... it is a spreader bar that helps with setting the spread on installation, and on some of our four-link kits it has the lower shock tabs welded to it (on inboard bag variations). It bolts in place.

We don't currently offer any rear components for the 73-87 Blazer or Jimmy, as they have a completely different chassis than the trucks.

The forward arms are not compatible with our Dropmembers, as the cross member itself moves the wheel.

Nice setup guys. Awesome parts and great customer service. I'm kinda wishing I would have gone with a coilover DM up front instead of what I chose.

However, I do have porterbuilt rear suspension....sorta.

My hacked up PB trailing arm to allow coilover mount, and panhard rod You can kinda also see my modified PB trailing arm crossmember with built in trans mount.

Looking good! Keep us posted on the progress. It's a blazer correct? That's why the trans x-member and trailing arm x-member are so close. I like that idea... and I have a blazer. Hmmmmmm.

Here is the Ridetech coilover that is used in the setup and it gives you all of the dimensions in the description. I believe that the coil spring setup is 650.00 for the pair.
