My buddy Kevin (KB71C10BBSUPER) has a real 71 super BB SWB, with a cool bit of mysterious history. Truck is loaded to the gills with options. I sent him a PM to post here, we'll see as he is not very active on here.

Re: pics of factory 71-72 short/super/402's

My truck is a 71 and it is just a Cheyenne, but there is very little difference between it and a super. It does have a few unusual options for a short bed, mainly the roof marker lamps. It needs restoring also. The truck is supposed to be solid orange with a white top only. Someone painted the white in between the chrome.

Factory 71 BB SWB with air. No spid, and not a super. Plus it's for sale. My Dad's.

awesome find, congrats! Can't wait to see it all done up - the white/hugger in deluxe two tone is the quintessential truck of the era. Interesting to see the leaf spring option on a swb - original owner musta known what they wanted!

Re: pics of factory 71-72 short/super/402's

Here's my 72 Cheyenne. Originally solid medium olive but I went two-tone when repainted. TLM suffix code which, to my understanding, came in all 1/2 ton trucks and were equipped with smog pumps.
