just wondering what really got you to chnage from accuair to manual switches.
im getting ready to buy a accuair set up. Ive been running electric valves for years.
just wanted to see the pros and cons of each..!

Dude it was a lot of stuff all at the same time. Was going to do a really clean ls swap, then another $1600 is accuair stuff to complete the set up, new wheels.... The project started to get really complicated and way over budget. Just remembered when I bagged my s10 in 96 with MIC valves and I was done in like 3 hours. Simple and they worked flawlessly. Just simplification of the project. Keeping the 396 and simplifying it. Going to spend the extra on some wheels by Chris coddington.

For clarification.... How long was your AccuAir set-up actually in service (how many miles of use did you have on the system before making the decision to 'simplify everything')?

The build was on its way to getting over complicated from my original plans. Original plans were to paint, simple bag job, redo the buddy buckets and drive the truck. It is now in a million pieces and a ton stuff getting thrown at it. My decision for "simplification" was not only of the air ride but if the whole build. Stay the course and get it put back together and enjoy it. Cutting the cost of the air ride system, ls swap, 4 bucket seats and full length console stuff like that. Simply simplification.

What I was asking was if you went the 'manual' route vs the AccuAir to cut costs (simplifying things by getting closer to the original budget) vs. functionality (simplifying things because the AccuAir was overly complicated & didn't work as expected)? Your answer above provided the insight.

No worries man. Yea the accuair set up is really clean and nice. I wanted to run it but I also wanted the elevel, and the self leveling, total upgrade cost was about $1800 for everything I needed. Also all the other stuff.... So I just scaled back and looked for the best manual valves I could find, and I found them.

I've got a set of these I'm gonna install in my 87. Have not tried them but they look&feel 100x better than plastic paddle valves. And yes, Derek is awesome to deal with, very helpful, and quick to respond to any questions.

I am new to the airride thing but currently have an 1971 C20 burban that already has the rear done. I am looking into doing the front within the next few weeks but was told I would need 4 more valves in order to keep the air from shifting between sides. In the case of these manual valves do you still need the eight valves or would you be able to get away with just the 4valves/ switches?

that is correct for your current setup. for standard electric valves you need 2 valves per tire so that you have indivigual air management. (1 for up and one for down per tire) the manual valves have the up&down all in one so 4 manual valves will control your truck. (1 per tire).

Need some help here !!! I am looking for any information on how to get a hold of Dloe for his valves ??? I have emailed and PM him on this sight with no response at all and all of these posts are real old. I cant find a phone number or anything on how to contact the guy. Is this guy not selling the valves any more and if he is how in the hell do you get a hold of him ? Kinda of makes it schechy to send money to someone you cant get a hold of if he is still selling these. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jeff
