Scrap here is $11 per 100 pounds so $220 per ton. It has been as high as $18/100 a few years ago so $360/ton. That kind of scrap values make it hard to buy old trucks for a couple hundred bucks anymore.

While I don't agree with what he is doing, I do understand that people want to come an nickle and dime you to death. It is sometimes easier to send piles to the crusher than deal with the lowballers.
