Re: Porterbuilt Project Lumberjacked
This is actually the best way to do things, especially if you like to drive your truck and not just have it in pieces in your garage. Go buy a new frame and get to work. Complete your rolling chassis like this (bags, dropmember, suspension, drivetrain etc) and then spend a weekend swapping the body over. Then you can sell your old frame and whatever else. Its pretty cool to see the quick transformation thats for sure.

Re: Porterbuilt Project Lumberjacked
i've got my accuair eLevel setup with dual compressors and the EXO mount. I think I am going to mount it to the side of the frame on the driver side, under the bed. Im always interested to see where others mount theirs. The other location I might do is in the back of the frame behind the rear axel. I havent really crawled under there yet to look where its going to end up. I want to eventually put a second gas tank in the back, so the side of the frame is my first choice.

Re: Porterbuilt Project Lumberjacked
Check out this thread from the suspension forum --> Link
Porterbuilt makes these boxes that mount to the outside of the frame and they hold the tank and a compressor. Really a slick way to use real estate under the bed.

Re: Porterbuilt Project Lumberjacked
Ive seen those. They are pretty cool. I already have the Accuair EXO mount system tho with dual compressor mounts. Sorta the same idea as the Porterbuilt but designed specifically for the Accuair.

Re: Porterbuilt Project Lumberjacked
Awesome progress, and a great inspiration to my own build. Just wondering, what did you spray underneath the cab with, and inside the fenders, and firewall? Thanks in advance.

Re: Porterbuilt Project Lumberjacked
Great job knocking the chassis out! Hopefully you'll be rolling soon.... What are the plans for the other truck?
