Re: 70 Long bed Build thread

a little more progress... my front passenger brake cylinder has been leaking so I took the chance to replace both front cylinders. it took 1 call and 3 different auto part stores to get the cylinders for the front drum brakes... apparently everyone younger then my truck does not believe that there are drums up front. I got rained out yesterday after noon and ended up finishing up this afternoon... while I had the wheels off I took advantage and greased up all the suspension and steering points. now Betsy stops like a dream and though I didn't notice a difference with fresh grease I cant imagine it hurt her.

Friday I had some time and some 1/4" ply scraps and decided I needed a glove box... the following pictures are the design process. My wife saw the pics I took and said I have to post them in this manner.
Pic 1 "yay my gloves fit"
pic 2 "hay my oil can is a perfect fit on the side"
pic 3 "hmm I have space at the top"
pic 4 "OMG my fire extinguisher fits perfectly!!!"

In all seriousness it basically did get built like this. My oil can will eventually get painted and get a custom label, kind of like a shop logo, only will be a quirky play on my instrument brand and an oil company, guitar and ukulele oil...

Andy, That looks awesome. Nice work! Good idea for the fire extinguisher and the oil can is too cool.

Thumbs up Re: 70 Long bed Build thread

I like what you've done so far and your woodworking is beautiful! You could probably make a small fortune selling those toolkits!
