Pass on the 6l80 for me. That first gear would do nothing for me but blow tires off. I would have to start in 2nd..

What motor are the 799 heads from? I assume that is the casting number. I was planning on some new L92 heads mildly CNC ported and a new LS3 intake from GMPP. Does the FAST intake come with everything like injectors and such. The LS3 from GMPP comes ready to bolt on and run. I'm also not familiar with the MS3 cam. Where does that come from? Am I annoying you yet.

I was going to use the truck accessories with some aftermarket brackets instead of replacing everything. Billet Specialties, Dirty Dingo, or some other company. I'm. Not building a show truck, but I would like to use something that looks decent.

You're built up a little more than I plan too. First gear will be nice when towing. I'll just have to keep my foot out of it when not loaded. What gears are you running?

799 heads came on later model 5.3's and 4.8's as well as 07/08 LS2's.
They are identical to the old 243 heads. Some 07's came with one 243 and one 799.

FAST intake does not come with injectors or anything like that.
You could also put an LS6 on it if you're not going max effort.

If you're not building a show truck I'd just run f-body accy's.
You can sell your truck stuff for $150-200 and f-car stuff is usually around 350-400.

not worth stroking a 6.0..... mind blown. lol check ls1tech or ls2gto or any sites in those sites and you will find more knowledge than possible i will eventually go with a 408 kit from texas speed and performance maybe some boost..

I've looked at their 408 packages. Quite a bit of power I really don't need. I'll probably stick with the head, intake, and cam route. Can always add the 408 kit later. It pretty much doubles the cost of the swap. From reading it seems the biggest bang for the buck is the heads and cam.

I need to find the right oil and transmission pans for clearance. I'll probably put skid plates on them like my Jeep pans. Take a plasma cutter and put 3-4 slots lengthwise. Cut a heavy piece of steel or aluminum to size and ramp the front of it. Line it up with the pan and weld a bead so it seals the slot and connects the two pieces together. I've dragged oil and transmission pans over rocks with no problems.
