Re: aluminum radiator for a 1965 c10
I don't have any pics of them installed, but if someone wants to buy and install and take some decent pics, I'll knock off another $10.
The $425 is the price of the radiator, and the discounted price for the fan & shroud kit is $220. If you want a controller with relay, that is $75. Shipping is based on location, and rarely is over $65 throughout the lower 48 states. |

Re: aluminum radiator for a 1965 c10
will you weld on threaded outlets for AN style fittings? if yes what does that run extra.
this is what I have now and after 8 years and 2 repairs I am ready for a replacement. I welded on the electric fan mounts and overflow tank brackets. |

Re: aluminum radiator for a 1965 c10
I did not read every post on this thread, so sorry if this has been covered. I read a nice post a short while back about a very happy customer that installed a GRIFFIN radiator because the Champion he had was defective.
Here's the link. I can't address the cost compared to other makes, but it sounds more and more that YOU USUALLY GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Re: aluminum radiator for a 1965 c10
yes, we can install AN fittings, and the price is usually $25-45 per depending on what size and how much time it takes to weld them on. PM me with details and I'll get a quote for you (include your zip code and I'll include shipping as well)

Re: aluminum radiator for a 1965 c10
The original shrouds do not bolt to the radiator. There are supposed to be side plates that bolt to the radiator support on both sides. There's short ones for I6's and longer ones for V8's

Re: aluminum radiator for a 1965 c10
From the seller on ebay. "super-radiator "
This radiator, although the core isn't as big as your original, is an original radiator for your truck...Chevy made two size cores for the 60-62 truck. Although the core is slightly not as wide, the brackets make up the difference. It's my understanding that this rad will bolt right in your 61 even though the core isn't as wide. The holes on these brackets are 25 1/2 " on center horizontally. Measure your rad support to verify, but I have sold this rad to many a customer with the wider stock core and it bolted right in. Let me know...thanks! Rick - super-radiator

Re: aluminum radiator for a 1965 c10
The '60-'62 radiators mount differently than the '63-'66's. The '60-'62's bolted directly to the radiator support and the metal fan shroud bolted to the radiator support on top of the radiator mounting brackets. The '63-'66 radiators sit into the saddles on the crossmember below, with the top hold down bracket. Then there are sheetmetal side shrouds that bolt to the radiator support, which the composite fan shroud bolts to.

Re: aluminum radiator for a 1965 c10
I've got one of those from Advance Auto it doesn't fit it's too wide it doesn't fit between the frame rails into the Saddles
it's up above the saddle on the actual frame rail making the center of the fan about a third of the way up the radiator Also my 65 top mount is longer and not as tall I would Love to see some Actual pictures of a Stock I6 with stock radiator and fan! ! |
