The piece that bolts/clamps to the head isn't welded on?

Re: My Old 66 chevy

No problem, it just looks like it is tacked on from this side. I was thinking your nice paint job would get fried when finishing off the welds.

Re: My Old 66 chevy

Well Gents,
Haven't done much with the build of the truck lately. Been using it around the farm though. Will be using it tonight so I'll see if I can get some pics of it at work on here tonight. Saving up for a carb for my intake and waiting to get a new exhaust system in. This stuffs gettin to be exspensive! Will be doing some painting here soon now that the weather is better.

Forgot I had this picture! Here are my freshly painted side covers. Will not be left on when I pull the motor out. I am going to get aluminum billet side covers in the future.

Re: My Old 66 chevy

Hopefully going to take it to the muffler shop this week end. Any ideas on a muffler? Looking for a deep and quiet sound.

Re: My Old 66 chevy

Hooked up the water heating system and then almost forgot to refill the radiator with antifreeze. Not like a 292 would over heat.... would it?

Bought some hotter spark plugs for it. Really helped in performance.

Engine looks great. Where in Oregon are you located? I work in Portland, Albany and Eugene. I'm there about once a month. If close, I'd like to see your truck and of course meet another member. Have met a few and super guys.

Thanks! I am about 4 or 5 hours south of Portland. Are you familiar with Grants Pass? I live about a 45 minute drive from there. PM me for more info. Would be cool to see your truck too. Thanks. T.J.

I know where Grants Pass is. Not that far from Eugene kinda. Lol. I'm always in a rental car when in Oregon. I met LT1Burb from Winchester, OR. last summer. He was just starting his new project of restoring his truck and going all original. Does awesome work. Great guy.

Cool farm truck. Really like your paint jobs on the engine so far. You know I might just have to make some stakes for my bed just incase.

Thanks it is alot of fun. Do plan to do a frame up restoration though. For know it's an ol farm truck with a hot rod 6. Stakes for your truck are never a bad thing.
