Ok can someone help educate me on the difference between the series of flowmaster mufflers? What is the difference between 40 series and others? Is it flow or all just sound? Like picking a guitar chord? I know slightly more than nothing about these things but i try not to let that stand in my way.

I think it's the overall length, sound and flow. From what i've heard a flowmaster 40 has more of a deep tone to it, where as the 44's are a more aggressive sound.

Re: headers and straight pipes

stock engine with straight pipes sounds like poop and it will kill your ears. a short glass pack wont quiet it dont much but will save you from going def. i have long tubes with 2.5 duals and 15" glass packs with turndowns that end just past the cab. tried it with pipe and no muffler. its hard on the ears

flowmasters on a stock engine just makes you sound like a boat. or chewbacca

40 series sounds like dogs in a tunnel and 50 series sounds like dogs in a tunnel five miles away lol
Flowmaster has some flow but all mufflers will pose some restriction
