Need some help. I tore down my frame after it was blasted. Now realized that this very front crossmember is bent and one of the rivits are out. Do they sell these or do i need to bang it up and fit it in? I borrowed a picture of the crossmember from a fellow board member. (hope thats ok)

Theres a rivet place online that sells rivits for our frames, also check with LMCTruck they also sell them I believe....Build looks sweet!

Never apoligize. I figure ill probibly have to bent it back to shape and put a bolt in it for now.

Got it all tore apart and the bare frame preped for paint. Hopefully tomorrow if time allows... Second Pic is where that front crossmember is bent. I suppose I better fix that first.

I also stripped that rust that was underneath some of the engine mounts and front suspension stuff, Pic was before that but you guys get the idea.

Any reason I shouldnt do rustoleum roll on bedliner for the frame? Seems to be cost effective and easy. It would seem to me if its tough enough for bedliners it should stand up on the frame well any thoughts? Frame is freshly blasted.

The first of two coats of Summit Racing Epoxy Primer Flat Black. Love how it turned out. One more coat and flip the frame to catch what i missed on the other side.

Second coat of epoxy primer. Frame flipped, everything is covered well. 1 Quart paint, 1 quart catalist was enough for two medium coats to bare frame and front crossmember. Still have lower control arms, rear end, trailing arms and a whole lot of misc pieces yet.

Bad luck today. My son (almost 3) and I were cruising in the 69 c10 cst 396 truck. Ran about 80 on interstate to go to favorite hardware store for a bunch of good priced grade 8 hardware for the 67 frame for reassembly when our luck changed for the worst.

All the sudden we didnt have any brakes, the pedal hit the floor with no stopping power. Thankfully it wasnt too busy in town or on the interstate and we just made it home (ran a few yellow lights). Just putted up the drive way slowed it down by neutral and my feet, then had to slam it in park. Took the front wheel off, inspected the rubber brake hose. No luck, pulled everything off and looked at the wheel cylinder to find it had broke off where that large nut attaches it, it must have pulled all the insides out and dropped the whole trucks brake fluid on the ground.

Then took out the brake cylinder and the brake line broke, then it broke at the other end as well...
Long story short thank god were alive. And the truck has all new 3/8" line, just waiting on a new rubber hose as mine had cracks, and the wheel cylinder. Should be up tomorrow.

Thank you... I too am very glad we got home safe. I too am going to be checking some other things as well. And double checking everything on the new build.

My son just loves that pickup. He loves all my old pickups. Even when we drive our newer trailblazer and we come out of a store and he sees an old truck he assumes we can just jump in and take off. This is one of my favorite photos of my son in my old 64 c10 custom cab big window truck. About a year and a half ago.

That's an awesome photo. And a great story too. I hope my kids will love my old vehicles as much as I do, when I have kids. Do you have build threads for your other trucks?

I believe i have a few threads on here from a 47 3100 i started it was on an s10 frame. A 53 5 window on an s10 frame and steel 20's. And a few other random things. To be honest I have a bad habit of selling things half complete.... Thats why with the encouragement of the forum. Im really trying to document and keep things rolling on the 67 build. I know its time to finish one. The 67-72 are by far my favorite trucks too so that helps. By the way love your 71 c10 i really hope mine looks half that good!!!. That is one killer truck you have there.

Frame is back together with all new grade 8 hardware. Got the tires and rims mounted up. Plan on putting the drive train in and setting the box on the frame. Maybe then ill have some more room to work. And make room for the patina 1960 swb fleetside im picking up.

I plan to do rear bags for hauling loads, so thats why the 4x4s are there just for bracing for now.

Just picked up a very nice AC cab with very little rust. Even inner rockers look good. Already sandblasted and only 150 bucks. Feel pretty good!
