Re: Chrome Side Moulding/Molding
I had to update this thread. I bit the bullet and went with Mar-K moldings as most recommended in this thread and am very glad I did. They backed up their product completely. Their customer service was calling ME to find out if all was good! There was some shipping damage and they immediately sent a replacement piece. Mar-K is a top notch supplier, the best of all I have bought from and that has been a lot for this build! Pictures when I can figure out how to get them off my phone. Thanks for the advice.

Re: Chrome Side Moulding
Thanks for the update. I installed LMC's on my 65 a couple years back. It is so thin when pushing in the clips if you weren't real careful it dimpled the surface. Plus half the clips hang loose.. curious did the molding come with clips from Mar K or did you buy separate and how tightly did they fit and also length wise on the trim did it reach the bed ends cab ends fenders etc? LMC's was a tad short on some just bugs me to look close.

Re: Chrome Side Moulding
The moldings came with clips which Mar-K feels are better than most out there because their customers have said so. But the body shop I am using did not care for the Mar-K clips in some spots and said they found others they liked better because they held tighter. I will try and get pictures of both. The moldings are to go on the cab again this coming week after the white stripe is painted on the doors. I will let you know how it goes. I have not seen the LMC moldings but the Mar-K moldings are pretty strong and seem like they will go on again without damage if we are careful. Mar-K supplies an install guide. I will have to get back to you on how the the lengths come out when the bed is done and that could be a couple of months. There is a "Trucks" build video on the net of a 66 that shows the molding stopping a bit shy of the end of the bed but it looks good and stock.

Re: Chrome Side Moulding
I made the mistake of not doing enough research before ordering my molding kit. I ordered the set from a local supplier, received and installed it yesterday. Taiwanese junk is all I can say. Several of the trim pieces fit very loosely and some don't line up well. Luckily the longer pieces came with an extra clip, cause we broke a few with very little effort. As others have said, if you aren't careful, you'll dent the trim, as it is very thin. I'm going to call the parts house tomorrow, but doubt I'll get any sympathy.
Don't make the same mistake I did, stay away from the import moldings!

Re: Chrome Side Moulding
Don't mean to jack your post.... I just took my orignal pieces (Today at Lunch) to a local guy in San Antonio who agreed to polish and fix the dents for $300.00... I thought it was high but considering after market trim goes any where from $320 to $450. plus shiping.. Looks like i may have saved myself some headache and a little cash depending on how you look at it.....
