Re: what are the most hard to come parts ?

Up here in Canada an automatic with the 2 speed column is very rare. I understand that a turbo 400 was available in 66. Has anyone ever seen a c10 with one? I'm thinking that the 3 speed steering column that it would come with would be quite rare. V8 trucks are scarce up here also, I've only seen a few. Have never seen a 327 that originally came in one of these trucks either.

Re: what are the most hard to come parts ?

In the last few years, I could've had any of the previously mentioned items about ten times each, and I'm not even a net search maniac. Now go and find a middle floor mat for a 60-66 Suburban and then tell me what's hard to come by.
Anyone?... Bueller?

Granted some things are harder to locate, next to impossible, but as a whole sense these have become more popular sources are drying up...

Re: what are the most hard to come parts ?

I just remembered the power brake pad. I’ve only seen one NOS example (on Ebay) in the last 15 years or so. I no longer remember what it sold for, but it was way more than I could afford:

Cool. I found one in a junkyard and it's on my truck now.
I've also found the rear cab trim piece, Apache bed trim, power brake boosters and a couple other bits in junkyards.
Then again, I spend a lot of time cruising the yards--I found an Edmunds Plymouth flathead two years ago, and this week I found a '55-'64 Chevy passenger car posi unit on the front seat of a junkyard '55 Chevy.

A finished truck. Kind of kidding.

The hood was the toughest part for me.
