If something happens to the air system in an 18 wheeler, you are going nowhere, let alone coast to coast, everything on a rig is air, and most importantly the brakes, no air, no brakes. Truck trailers don't just roll away when detached from the tractor because without air the brakes are *locked*.

Re: Crazy or not, bagged daily driver?

My white truck is a daily driver for a friend of mine while his truck is in the shop and we have no issues. His truck thats in the shop getting freshened up is his daily driver when he has it. It has almost 40,000 miles on it with bags and before he got the truck it was used as a true shop truck and was used to pull street rods all the time. I love air bags and the ride they give!!

Man Keith that blazer is sweet. What's your tire size front and back? You say you still have your inner fenders?

As for the original question. I have a 70 gmc with Accuair eLevel and I love it. I drive it most of the time but I have another truck also. There is no reason why you can't drive it every day. The reliability of an air ride system is only as good as the installation. I also have mine set up so when it's fully aired out, you can still roll without anything scraping. Very dangerous to have the frame hit the ground when you let the air out.

Yes they are still in there or it would go a little lower.

I only say that because I have had my truck static dropped since I got it.... all I have ever wanted was to bag it. I even have a complete bag set up in my garage. The sucky part is, laws in Hawaii are very strict, even for classics like ours... my plan is to get my truck back on the road soon but, by the end of the year, I want her on air. I will just have to be careful where I go and fight the temptation of psssst...pfffffff clunk... at every traffic light.
